The conference was a fantastic opportunity to listen to practicing systems engineers from all walks of life from farm equipment to medical equipment.
The military and our highly complex weapon systems were the first to take Bell Lab’s and MIT’s ideas on systems engineering and implement them in practical ways. It was clear at this conference that the baton has been passed to the increasingly complex systems in the civilian world. It was fascinating and incredibly enlightening to see ideas I had worked with throughout my career in defense being used to improve millions of HVAC systems across the world or make it more economical to manufacture bullets.
I highly recommend INCOSE and the Great Lakes Conference.
